Overview
This Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies such as local storage. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
We keep our use of cookies deliberately narrow. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not participate in cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not sell personal information.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies, including local storage and session storage, achieve comparable results using your browser's storage. We use the term “cookies” to cover all of them.
A cookie is a first-party cookie when it is set by us, and a third-party cookie when set by another domain. It is a session cookie when it is deleted on closing your browser, and a persistent cookie when it survives until it expires or you remove it.
Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Consent | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, session integrity, security, load balancing, and remembering your language choice | Not required | Session to 12 months |
| Functional | Remembering interface preferences you have set, such as saved views | Not required where you set the preference yourself | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Aggregate, measurement-only understanding of which features are used, to improve reliability | Required where law requires it | Up to 13 months |
| Error diagnostics | Capturing technical detail when something fails so we can fix it | Legitimate interest, minimised | Up to 12 months |
| Advertising | Not used | Not applicable | Not applicable |
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Service to function. They keep you signed in, protect against cross-site request forgery, preserve your locale, and route traffic. They cannot be disabled through a consent banner because the Service would not work without them, but you can block them in your browser — in which case you will not be able to sign in.
Analytics and diagnostics
Where we use analytics, it is measurement-only and configured to minimise personal data: we look at aggregate feature usage rather than tracking individuals across sites. Error diagnostics capture the technical context of a failure so we can reproduce and fix it.
Where consent is legally required, these are set only after you give it, and we honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser.
How to control cookies
- Use the cookie preferences control on our site to accept or reject non-essential categories, and to change your choice later
- Configure your browser to block or delete cookies — note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in
- Enable Global Privacy Control in a supporting browser and we will treat it as an opt-out of non-essential cookies
- Use your operating system or browser controls to reset device identifiers
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by the sub-processors that host and monitor the Service, for example to route requests or capture an error. These are limited to operating the Service and are described in our Sub-processor List. We do not permit our vendors to use data collected through our site for their own advertising purposes.
Changes to this Policy
We will update this Policy when our use of cookies changes, and will revise the “last updated” date accordingly.
